Advanced system-on-modules (SoM) solutions for airforce applications

Artron’s Cygnus family consists of system-on-modules, which enable the user to combine the software and hardware programmability of ARM processors and Xilinx FPGA’s integrated in Xilinx system-on-chips.

The Cygnus SoM family provides an end-to-end solution with multiple SoM models equipped with low-end, small package Zynq-7014s to high-end, complex architecture Ultrascale+ 7EV. We can also provide alternative associated carrier boards for these SoCs.

Artron’s Cygnus SoM’s are built using components capable of operating under extreme temperatures, including the automotive grade Xilinx SoCs. SoMs are ideal for use in systems demanding high vibrations when combined with the high mating cycle, high reliability board-to-board connectors. Cygnus SoM’s are small form factor and rugged cards suitable for pairing with Artron-developed carrier boards to reduce the application development cycle.

One of the key benefits of Artron’s solution is the onboard board management controller (BMC) IC. The power rails coming from the carrier board pass through the connectors and are then distributed in a controlled manner on the board itself. BMC (the lattice FPGA) ensures that the power inputs remain within the limits, protecting the system-on-module (SoM) from electrical damages caused by unintentional power inputs.

Artron’s Cygnus family of SoMs components, including capacitors and resistors, are all automotive-grade solutions. The operating temperature for the whole family is between -40°C and 85°C, making them a suitable choice for multiple airforce applications.

Innovative commercial aircraft communication boards

Artron can supply custom-designed aircraft solutions for a wide range of application that can be tailored to the individual performance and requirements of the customer.

In the past, we have designed and supplied an in-flight entertainment system, which was fully tested and verified by the customer and was seamlessly integrated into the corresponding system.

Electronic Safe & Arm Devices (ESAD) and fuzes

Artron has extensive knowledge and experience researching, developing, manufacturing and integrating advanced fuzes for aerial munitions and custom fuzing systems.

We have developed a number of electronic safety and arming devices (ESAD) for warhead initiation and motor ignition, and we always work to ensure our designs are fully compatible with corresponding military standards and fuzing requirements, such as STANAG-4187, MIL-STD-331 and MIL-STD-1316.

The verification procedures for the devices are based upon MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464, including EMP, HERO and direct/indirect lightning.

The ESADs safety features are controlled by two separate, independent logic elements, which, along with multiple accelerometers, provide the ESADs with the necessary capability to calculate the safety distances and the soundness of the missile flight.

Store management systems for the defence industry

Artron are specialists in the development of solutions for stores management on air, land and maritime platforms. Our stores management systems are miniaturised to suit the ever-tightening dimension requirements of the aerospace industry.

Artron’s store management products are the result of the company’s extensive experience and knowledge in embedded software development, rugged electromechanical integration, and electronics design.

Our extensive family of cutting-edge miniaturised stores interface units (mSIU) consist of solutions capable of interfacing two or four missile systems. The solution’s modular design architecture allows Artron to react rapidly to the evolving needs of various integration schemes.

The mSIU family is verified in accordance with military standards, such as MIL-STD-810G/461F/704F/1275D, and has been proven in flight operations.
