Embraer has selected Cobham Commercial Systems to provide an advanced flight display system for 14 EMB-312 Tucanos that are being upgraded for the Columbian air force.
The advanced integrated suite features large-format synthetic vision flight displays, advanced flight management capability, integrated hazard alerting, as well as integrated engine displays and master caution system.
The suite also includes a digital autopilot with 3D autoflight capability and automatic stall/overspeed protection as well as simulated tactical radar training using virtual scenarios.
Cobham Commercial Systems general manager Roger Smith said the system will extend the life of Tucanos and provide operational capabilities that are not available in this class of aircraft.
The EMB-312 Tucano is a single-turboprop aircraft operated by military training organisations around the world.
