The global aerospace, defence and security industry experienced a 26% drop in new job postings related to environment in Q3 2022 compared with the previous quarter, according to GlobalData’s Jobs Analytics. This compares to a 26% decrease in the previous quarter and a 46% increase versus Q3 2021.

Notably, Aerospace Engineers jobs accounted for a 4% share of the global aerospace, defence and security industry’s environment-related total new job postings in Q3 2022, up 9% over the prior quarter.







	

               
   
Aerospace Engineers drive environment-related hiring activity
Aerospace Engineers, with a share of 4%, emerged as the top environment-related job roles within the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 9% quarter-on-quarter. Engineering Technologists and Technicians, Except Drafters came in second with a share of 3% in Q3 2022, with new job postings drop by 5% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent environment roles include Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a 3% share in Q3 2022, Computer and Information Research Scientists with a 3% share of new job postings.

                    
                    				
              
    
Top five companies in aerospace, defence and security industry accounted for 50% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were L3Harris Technologies, Raytheon Technologies, Boeing and Safran. Together they accounted for a combined share of 50% of all environment-related active jobs in the aerospace, defence and security industry.
L3Harris Technologies posted 680 environment-related new jobs in Q3 2022, Raytheon Technologies 664 jobs, Boeing 625 jobs, and Safran 511 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

                    
                    		
           
    
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 75% share of total active job postings, Q3 2022
The largest share of environment-related new job postings in the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 75% followed by the UK (10%) and France (5%).
