The global aerospace, defence and security industry experienced a 42% drop in new job postings related to digital media in Q3 2022 compared with the previous quarter, according to GlobalData’s Jobs Analytics. This compares to a 42% decrease in the previous quarter and an 143% increase versus Q3 2021.

Notably, Human Resources Workers jobs accounted for a 10% share of the global aerospace, defence and security industry’s digital media-related total new job postings in Q3 2022, up 15% over the prior quarter.







	

               
   

Human Resources Workers drive digital media-related hiring activity

Human Resources Workers, with a share of 10%, emerged as the top digital media-related job roles within the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 15% quarter-on-quarter. Public Relations Specialists came in second with a share of 6% in Q3 2022, with new job postings drop by 13% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent digital media roles include Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a 6% share in Q3 2022, Marketing and Sales Managers with a 4% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in aerospace, defence and security industry accounted for 60% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were Leidos Holdings, Rheinmetall, L3Harris Technologies and Elettronica. Together they accounted for a combined share of 60% of all digital media-related active jobs in the aerospace, defence and security industry.

Leidos Holdings posted 314 digital media-related new jobs in Q3 2022, Rheinmetall 76 jobs, L3Harris Technologies 48 jobs, and Elettronica 46 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 71% share of total active job postings, Q3 2022

The largest share of digital media-related new job postings in the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 71% followed by Germany (9%) and the UK (6%). The share represented by the US was -8% lower than the 79% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
